herewiss13I just added the 1200th volume to my collection: "The Dragonbards" by Shirley Rousseau Murphy. It's the end of a YA fantasy trilogy that I read as a kid. The library had chucked out all its copies, so, in a fit of nostalgia, I got my own.
Seems like that's becoming a more and more common reason for book buying for me. Either it's brand new, hot-of-the-shelves, or else it's something that I used to read that the library no longer offers. Sometimes it's not even something I want to read right now...just something I might want to look up later, something I feel obligated to preserve for posterity. ;-)
