Just when you think Kage Baker can't get any twistier, she goes and proves you wrong. I'm not sure I've ever read a _series_ involving time travel on such a scale, and this latest book turns the narrative timeline into a piece of intricate cross-stitch. Lots of pay-off for the previous books, but one hum-dinger of a cliff-hanger at the end. The wait for "Gods and Pawns" is going to be for ever!
