Vacation Time
Sep. 24th, 2005 05:14 pmLast week in October, I take my first paid vacation...ever. I've been paid, and I've had vacations, but never before at the same time. I plan to enjoy it, naturally.
My plans are to visit my brother in Washington D.C. for a week. He's a law student there. I live in Oregon, so this is a major undertaking (furthest east on the Continent I've ever been...not counting trans-atlantic flights) and I want to get it as right as possible.
I'm obviously going to the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History and the National Zoo...and some of the other museums and memorials around the Mall too. My question to my LJ friends (the few, the proud) is: "what else shouldn't I miss?" I know some of you, if not around there currently, have _been_ in that basic area (i.e. the Eastern Seaboard). And so I seek your advice:
What's great about D.C. besides the obvious?
