For some reason, I have the song lyric "Isn't it Byronic, don't you think?" running around inside my head. But I don't have enough familiarity with Lord Byron to turn it into an actual parody. Having a refrain from a popular song stuck in your head is one thing. Having the refrain to an imaginary song that isn't even written is quite another.

Also, an observation I'd meant to point out last time: The People at Google has way too much time on their hands. You can get their website translated into Latin, Elmer Fudd, Bork Bork (the Swedish Chef from the Muppets) and Klingon (among many other legitimate languages). I'm certainly glad the Klingon Empire now has access to such powerful information search technology.

Just cracked open "Kushiel's Dart" which got a lot of attention a while back. Interesting stuff. My initial impression is that it is "The Story of O" meets "The Secret History of Ash". I won't go into all the alternate history details, but it's set in an Ancient Europe both familiar and utterly strange and I really like that.

On the Erin front, we're picnicking at the Rose Garden on Wednesday. Her idea. The movie didn't afford for enough conversation time, apparently. I'm not sure whether pure talk will be good or terrifying.
