Dec. 15th, 2002 06:12 pmModern computing has the _strangest_ synergistic effects. Just now I attempted to start up the Diablo2 expansion pack when I was disconnected from my ISP and the auto-redial kicked in simultaneously.
...then all hell broke loose.
Diablo2 quit, my mouse froze and the screen display went from 800x600 to 640x480, and from True color (32 bit) to 256 color. So, in essence, without touching a single "display property" control, I resized my monitor and distorted every pixel and froze myself out of doing anything about it.
Took me three restarts to get everything back to normal (couldn't figure out why the colors were off at first) and I'm still knocking on wood.
What the heck does a video game and the frickin' autodialer have to do with screen area and color display?!
::sigh::What do you think: should I try re-loading Diablo2 now or give it a miss for the night.
