herewiss13Finally theFic Trawler has been fully updated. The authors have been notified, the recs page blog has been notified and several small errors have been fixed. We've even passed the 1000th hit mark. Praise the heavens!
So the Trawler is good, things with the girlfriend are good (and seemingly stable too!) and all is right with the world...
...except being penniless, unemployed and meeting her folks on Friday (yikes!).
On the plus side, again, I found a lovely fic to distract me from my woes today. Buffy/Stargate crossover that integrates the two universes seamlessly (a Goa'uld comes to the Hellmouth. SG-1 follows. Bumps into the Scoobies. Much explanation (and secrets) required. Giles and Daniel work well together). Good character work on both sides, interesting plot and, wouldn't you know it's a WIP that ends with Buffy's knee being carbonized by a staff weapon. Grrrr... That was an abrupt ending I so didn't need. We can only hope the next chapter comes along quickly. You just know Willow will magic her knee back into place (it's pre-season 5 so one assuming a re-insertion into cannon after the end of the fic), but still....
...and on the bad side, not only do I meet K.'s folks on Friday but I get to meet her "adoptive" parents on Sunday (not a formal relationship, but apparently K. feels closer to them than the real pair). So I get a double dose of disapproval all lined up for me...on top of everything else.

...and people wonder why I don't post LJs more often (well...they might have wondered)
