- Have we seen the last of Nikki? I do like her former husband, but hope she manages to survive have her innards re-arranged. Everyone else has a simple, straight forward power; "he flies" "he walks through walls" "She's indestructible", but Nikki's is more complex: "She has a super-strong evil twin personality that she sees in mirrors..." I wonder if the split personality is part of it...or just a home-grown coping mechanism for the super-strength?
- She's probably not dead. Narratively speaking, her husband needs someone to run from, after all. Not to mention the fact that she's forged links with both Petrelli and Hiro & Co. The gun on the mantlepiece hasn't truly been fired yet, so you can't take it offstage yet.
- I'm having stronger and stronger suspicions that Clare's Dad is not the main villain of the piece (aka Mr A-Bomb). He was far too taken aback by the "save the cheerleader" message to be contemplating the nuclear annihilation of a major metropolitan area.
- Of course, I could be wrong.
- Speaking of which: why couldn't Mohinder meet a nice normal girl? I had such high hopes for those too. I should have known she was too cute to be good, but I thought I'd been picking up genuine UST. Shame on me for wanting to 'ship so early.
- Hiro: It's always nice when the character already knows his Joseph Campbell. It's even nicer when his friend knows it too. The little guy's enthusiasm may have dampened a bit this week, but the concept of the do-over holds the promise of redemption.
- And he's going to get a sword too. That is, of course, the most important thing.
Speaking of Hiro, I think I've got season 2 figured out. They all get together and save the day. Then Hiro goes back in the season 1 finale and saves those poker players from Nikki. This turns season one completely on its head, for a variety of reasons we'll discover, and most of season one gets re-played and overwritten by new events. Butterfly effect run amok. Not sure if you can stretch that to a third season or not, but at this point: who cares?
