To the list of "Boneheadedly Moronic Things Never to Do" let us add "forgetting to remove your key, which is on the same key-chain as every other key you own, from the bike lock after locking up your bike at the local bus depot in the morning before catching the shuttle to work."

The consequences, thankfully, were much less dire than they might have been, despite being a total loss of keys and bike. Annoying, but the bike was old and the keys replaceable and not traceable...none of which prevented a definite moment or three of shock and panic when the discovery sank it.

On the bright side, I know have a solid baseline of idiocy against which I can compare any future acts of a less than brilliant nature.

Let this be a lesson to you all.
