herewiss13It was less than I'd hoped for, but much better than I feared. Between the weird veininess and odd cast-list (Shadowcat, Collusus, Iceman, Wolverine and Storm...what a random team) there were some genuinely good moments.
Not nearly enough Beast, though. We could definitely have used a lot more Beast. I pretty much burst out laughing in sheer joy when they managed to fit in an "Oh my stars and garters." The Stan Lee cameo was cute too; as was the fastball special, Bobby finally "icing up" and the sentinel cameo.
But Juggernaut's not a mutant dammit!
...and I'm not really happy with movie-canon now, fic-wise. Any good fic would almost have to retcon the movie to undo [OBVIOUS SPOILER]. though [OTHER OBVIOUS SPOILER] looks like it's going to reverse itself. That'd be an interesting fic right there, checking out various characters at the time of reversal.
And on the other hand, Charles/Erik got a whole lot more plausible, to my mind. < g >
In short, there was soooo much more they could have done with this, but it was not the complete loss I had been fearing. An eventual fourth movie would not go amiss...assuming they did it right this time.
