Urinetown: The Musical

herewiss13We came, we saw, we conquered!
As of last night, I had many severe qualms about this show. It was tough, it was tight, there was much dancing, many lines and a great deal of very important split-second timing.
But it all worked out. How? It's a mystery. It just did. It always does, somehow.
There were mike problems (a late technical addition) and 1-2 verses that weren't _quite_ in synch with the music, but the major trouble spots we'd been struggling against without success in dress rehersals all vanished, the quick changes were completed with _time_to_spare_ and the audience roared all through the entire thing (with laughter, I might add).
Now we just have to do it again. 9-10 more times. Only better.
This is why I love theater. When they compare it to a drug, they really aren't kidding. Once you encounter the endorphin rush generated by live performance, there's rarely ever any going back.
...and next summer we're going to do Evita!!!!
