Misplaced Priorities
Dec. 24th, 2004 11:21 pmChristmas is here and Huygens is away! I'm not sure which excites me more. I'd be geeky enough to say Huygens except we're still going to have to wait 3 weeks for it to drift down to the re-entry point. So presents and food have a slight edge.
But if it was a toss up between Titan and presents, the purported petrochemical seas would win hands down.
Speaking of astronomy and christmas miracles, I still can't believe the Mars rovers are functional. It's been very nearly an entire year now and they were designed for 90 days. And something has started boosting the power generation on one of them again! I have this image of a little Martian Elf with a feather duster...
Between all that and the possibility of now being reunited with a beloved pet (for only $50,000), it is truly a great time to be alive.
...actually, if you want to talk miracles, how about 3 posts in three days (whereas I was averaging 3 in 3 months earlier). Anyone think I can keep this up?
