Inversion

Alias may be getting soap opera-esque of late, but they actually did something very cool last night. The show has been inverted. Lauren is now a covert operative inside an intelligence organization attempting to secretly subvert their missions along with her partner/handler from _outside_ that organization (Sark). Sound familiar? It's been there before, but last night was the most overt demonstration of this inversion and mirroring with Sidney (down to a romance with her partner). The red wig helped. There's also a moral inversion as Lauren is inflitrating a _legitimate_ organization, kills rather than tranqs, and cheats on her husband. Shes Evil!Sydney. ;-)

Sloane's "I am your father" bit was rather melodramatic, but you never know where they'll take it. And this is the first time I'd heard about "eight feet of empty parchment". You just _know_ that's got something on it. I'd actually wondered for a while if "Crazy Uncle Arvin" had actually gone legit. I should have known better.;-)

I could have done without the continual scene repeat, though. At first, I thought something was wrong with the station and it had looped back on itself. The different POVs were nice, but they could have gotten a similar effect with _much_ less rehash.

And Marshall, all of a sudden, looked like a potential actor for Miles Vorkosigan. Scary.
