The Joys of Code
Jan. 2nd, 2003 05:51 pmFinally said, "what the hell", repressed the bug (which is waning) and some recent financial stress, and started slapping together some content for the Trawler. Still haven't written the recs for X-files or West Wing (though I have the titles), so those fandoms just won't be mentioned on the first page. Later updates can add those categories back again...it's not hard.
There is nothing so aggravating as text that refuses to display as you want it too. I've just spent 5 minutes scratching my head as to why everything is in bold.
There is nothing more exhilarating than finally fixing it. I finally discovered a faulty closing tag, with the "/" in the wrong place and nearly let out a whoop of exultation.
...of course, now I'm not crazy about the font we're using, but at least content is starting to appear on the page!
ase can edit everything to her hearts content (and I hope she does). I'm just glad to get text on screen.
Anyone know the etiquette of informing writers that you've recced their work?
